Compatibility Notes

Item

Description

Wirepas Network Tool

Wirepas Network Tool v4.1 backend & client are backwards compatible with Wirepas Network Tool v4.0.

New Features vs Wirepas Network Tool v4.0

Item

Description

1

Directed advertiser positioning packet support.

Added support of DA originated positioning packet in WNT parser with integration of WPE v1.5.0 for Massive Tracking v1.1.

2

Possibility to disable OTAP

It is possible to set scratchpad action to NO_OTAP for the sinks in the network, while using Wirepas Massive Firmware v5.1.0 or greater and Linux Gateway v1.4.0 or greater [2].

3

New fields added to MQTT JSON API.

Sink address and gateway id added to the MQTT JSON API [1].

4

New items in the events page

Address clashes and scratchpad transfers diagnostics values added to the events page [3].

Performance/Feature Improvements vs Wirepas Network Tool v4.0

#

Item

Description

1

OTAP performance improvement.

OTAP related messages are spread to longer time range to reduce the load to the backend and client.

Important Notes for Wirepas Network Tool v4.1

#

Description

1

When using positioning engine the anchors are not detected automatically in WNT 4, as there is no bulletproof way to do this, but users need to set the nodes manually as anchors from the Node Management page. When doing backend update from WNT v3.0.x to WNT v4.1 the update runs a script that will import all router nodes that are approved and have valid location as anchors to WNT v4.1 backend.
